24th March 2002: Manjimup – Warren National Park

Broke camp at a very slow pace and drove to our reconnoited “Easter spots”. Found a good site by the river where not much room for an Easter hoarde… we thought!
The Easter Rush
We bedded down for the Easter Rush,
We were trying to avoid the crowded crush,
A few peaceful days we did enjoy,
Then the traffic, oh, boy!
Trying to hold the fort was a game,
Harry, Roselyne,us and the Brits that came,
We had a bit of space, that's for sure,
But our little fort couldn't possibly hold more.
A few inquired, and a few passed through,
But then came a group that were up for a blue,
We held our nerve whilst they sent a crew,
To look for sites that were becoming few.
We bit our nails and wandered around,
We nervously waited to see what the posse had found,
Upon the return, a report that buoyed,
They were continuing, we were silently overjoyed.

Using this as our base, we explore the region including Pemberton, D’Entrecasteaux National Park, Northcliffe, Windy Harbour and the Bicentennial Tree.
Otherwise, lots of reading, swimming, relaxing and fire side chats in the evening with our fellow campers.
