The “Emu Watcher”
In the camp there's a job to be done,
It might sound funny but its an important one,
Julie is our vigilante "emu watcher",
When they arrive, with a cry, "I spot ya'".
Emus are curious creatures you see,
Not ones to take flight and readily flee,
Trawling for a nefarious meal,
Time for "the watcher" to take action, I feel!
The emus approach our campsite with glee,
A careless camper's viands disappear easily,
But to the fore comes our intrepid "watcher",
Before the strike, a cry of "I've gotchya"!
So with rake in hand the "watcher" is ready,
The thrill of the vigil, suspenseful and heady,
With a well-timed prod the "watcher" can overt,
But she cannot relax, she must always be alert!
